Hi, I'm Miguel
I'm a project manager. Parent. Expat living in Madrid, Spain.
A few years back I moved here with my family. What began as a temporary assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
Our Beginning
Moving to Spain wasn’t part of our long-range plan. As with many international moves, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, heightened expectations. Routine tasks seemed more troublesome than expected.
The Adaptation Phase
We faced culture shock, uncertainty, and plenty of hands-on learning. Gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and began crafting something that felt steady.
Why I Created BrightTulipCode
Most online content fell into either corporate relocation guidance or superficial travel material. What was missing was a genuine, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Site Does (And Does Not)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a real change occurs
This site isn't:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review platform
- Just a generic travel blog
Looking Forward
We’ll continue our time in Spain and the learning journey goes on. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Miguel
